The search for partners who share our values

As The Peacock Palette slowly began to take shape, one thing became clear early on. Who we worked with would matter just as much as what we created.

We knew we did not want mass-produced products. We wanted to work with people who approached craft the way we did, with care, patience, and intention. Small workshops. Skilled artisans. Businesses where the process still mattered.

Finding them was not straightforward. The right partnerships are rarely found quickly. They are built slowly, through conversation, trust, and shared values.

There was no single place to begin. Much of the search started with long hours of research, following studios, studying the work of hand-block printing artisans, and reaching out one conversation at a time. We spent time learning about workshops across Rajasthan, especially in and around Jaipur, where hand-block printing has been practiced for generations.

Some conversations ended quickly. Others slowly opened doors.

During this time, our Partnerships and Production Liaison, Vashita, spent time on the ground in Jaipur meeting artisans and visiting workshops. She observed printing tables, spoke with printers, and helped us understand not just what was being made, but how it was being made.

That distinction mattered to us.

We were looking for partners who respected their craft and worked thoughtfully. Workshops where skills were passed down through experience, where printing was still done by hand, and where people were proud of the work they produced.

Good craft grows slowly, and so do the relationships behind it.

Over time, we began to find the people who felt right. Printers who understood the rhythm of traditional hand-block printing. Workshops that valued careful processes and responsible practices. Small teams who approached their work with patience and pride.

These are the people behind The Peacock Palette today.

Their skill and dedication shape every piece we create. And working with them reminds us that the right partnerships are never simply sourced.

They are built over time.

Because in the end, the craft may draw people in.
But it is the people behind it who make the work meaningful.
