The Making

Every pattern begins with a feeling.

Sometimes it starts with a color we keep coming back to. Sometimes it is a memory, or just something that stays with us. We spend unhurried weeks refining each design, shaping color, scale, and composition through a close exchange between our studio and the artisans we work with. Each block is carved by hand, and every detail is worked through carefully before it reaches the final print. Nothing is rushed.

There are pauses, reworks, small adjustments along the way.
Layer by layer, block by block, the design comes into form, shaped slowly, through time, skill, and attention.
